Environment Subgroup Meeting Dates

The S106/CIL meeting, where requests from community groups are going to be reviewed and recommendations made to the Greater Bedminster Community Board will be held on
Thursday 1st December 2016 7.00pm to 9pm at the ACTA centre Gladstone Road.

PLEASE NOTE THE EARLIER START TIME THIS IS DUE TO EXTRA TIME NEEDED TO DISCUSS SUBMITTED REQUESTS

The TOR will be finalised also, please see attached. If there is anything to add or change please send to Lorena.alvarez@bristol.gov.uk by Friday 18th November 5pmy.

On Thursday 26th January 2016 7.30pm to 9pm there will be the usual environmental subgroup meeting.

Bedminster Skills Week

The third Bedminster Skills Week will be from November 14. to 20. 2016.
The programme includes African drumming, beginners swimming, chocolate making and much more.

Question & Answer Meeting with Labour Member Karin Smyth MP

There is going to be an informal Q & A coffee morning with Karin Smyth MP on Friday 11th November 2016 at the Community Centre in Risdale Road BS32QY from 12.15 – 1.45 pm.

Wellbeing Fund

The Community Access Support Service (CASS) is currently promoting a Wellbeing Fund up to £1,000 focused on improving emotional wellbeing of primary school children and their families, city wide.

Southbank Studio X-mas market

The SouthBank Club is holding its annual indoor Christmas Market on Saturday 10th December 2016 and YOU are invited! From 11am-4pm the SouthBank Club will be full of Christmas cheer, gifts galore, and fabulous entertainment from local musicians. Free entry and families are more than welcome- bring everyone! UWE Bristol Community Fund

The Better Together Fund is being relaunched this year as the UWE Bristol Community Fund. Grants of up to £3,000 are available for projects which enhance student learning (inside or outside of the curriculum) through practical, community-based activities.

Projects should have a positive impact on the local community in one of the theme areas: Schools and Education; Sustainability; or Tackling inequality.

Applications are open now, and will close on the Friday 2 December. Decisions on funding will be made in early December. For more information please visit the UWE Bristol website or contactvolunteering@uwe.ac.uk.

Walking and Neighbourhood Partnerships

On Tuesday 15th November from 2pm – 4pm in the City Hall at Lord Mayor’s Reception room (entrance via main lobby) there will be a meeting to exchange ideas on how walking can be supported and promoted through Neighbourhood Partnerships.

The four West of England councils

In November the four West of England councils will be consulting on the next steps towards drawing up plans which will steer development in our area over the next 20 years. Last year people’s thoughts and ideas were sought to help set the approach and priorities. Having taken on board the consultation feedback, the next phase of the process is to consult again, this time on outline proposals. Consultation closes on 19th December 2016.

A meeting has been organised for Partnerships resident members, which will be an opportunity to hear about the proposals and discuss how they may affect communities in Bristol.

Gardening in Dame Emily Park

Last work party of the year Sunday the 13th November from 2pm – 4pm. All volunteers will be treated with mulled wine/coffe/tea and biscuits. Come along all welcome.
