You will see from the attached paper that there are 9 applications to the Community Chest, totalling £17,424. g-bed-np-grantsjune16

These will be considered by an Awards Panel on Wednesday, June 8 at Windmill Hill City Farm. The Panel will start with a briefing at 7pm and should not last more than 1.5-2 hours. Award Panels are made up of local people who give up an evening to read through and assess applications. If you would like to be part of this panel, please just turn up a few minutes before 7. You do not need any special knowledge, just a bit of common sense. If you are linked to any of the applications, you can still join in, but not vote on ‘your’ application.

The recommendations from the Awards Panel will go to the full GBCP Board meeting at the Bristol Indoors Bowls Centre in Ashton Vale. That meeting starts at 7pm on June 27. Agendas and papers should be available shortly.

Becoming a Member of the GBCP Board

The meeting on June 27 is the AGM. A new GBCP Board will come into existence. That Board has already begun to form with the election of Celia Phipps, Charlie Bolton, Mark Bradshaw ans Steve Clarke as councillors for the two wards of Southville and Bedminster. they are automatically Board members.

However, there are lots of other places. These will be filled by nominations from registered partners across the area. Please note that existing board members can only stay on the board if they are re-nominated. But, we also welcome new members.

To nominate someone, please complete the attached form and send it in.

Officers of GBCP

The new board will elect officers. If you wish to nominate anyone as an officer, please complete the attached nomination paper. Please note that officers must also be members of the board, so make sure they are nominated for that too.

It’s always a good idea to check that people are willing before you nominate them for something.

GBCP Mobility Sub-Group

Next meeting Monday, 6 June at Windmill Hill City Farm. This group looks at how we get in and out and about the community.

GBCP Environment Sub-Group

Next meeting Thursday, 9 June at actaCentre. Looking at green spaces and the street scene.

Both sub-groups make recommendations to BCC and GBCP on future developments. New members welcomed.

Please note that the AGM on 27 June is an open meeting, ie anyone can attend. Perhaps we’ll see you there?

And for those who don’t do meetings…
